KCB defender Kevin Okumu set for spell on the sidelines with injury

After missing the last encounter against Nzoia Sugar FC, KCB FC defender Kevin ‘Chumsy’ Okumu is set for a spell on the sidelines with an injury.

The former Nairobi City Stars defender is set to miss their clash against Bidco United this weekend as he is yet to recover from his injury.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Bidco on Saturday, the Bankers head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno provided an injury update on Chumsy.

“Our only injury concern is Kevin, he is still not ready but the rest of the players are ready for the game against Bidco if selected,” Zico told the club’s media.

KCB have registered patchy results this season after opening the season with a statement win over Kenya Police FC but have suffered losses against Nzoia and Kakamega Homeboyz which were sandwiched with a victory against Bandari.

Zico added that they have thoroughly prepared for the Bidco clash as he went on to lament about the lapse in concentration in the loss to Nzoia last weekend.

“We have tried to prepare the best way we can, our main focus has always been getting three points in every match we play but sometimes it's difficult. The game of football has three results and we take any result with a lot of dignity.
