Sharks went into the match sitting in the relegation zone with 26 points and enduring a torrid run of form that saw them fail to taste victory in five attempts.
Seal were equally on a poor run of form, having failed to win their previous six encounters, including losing four consecutive matches.
With the motivation to fight relegation, Sharks started the match with great energy, pushing for an early goal, but none was forthcoming in the opening five minutes.
Seal, who have been having technical bench issues, which saw the sacking of Osborne Monday a fortnight ago, looked to struggle in the opening 15 minutes of the match.
However, it was not until the 35th minute that the match had its most significant moment, Steve Mbulere striking into the back of the net to give Sharks the lead.

The William Muluya-coached side continued with their trademark short, quick passing game, looking for a second goal, but it was not meant to be as they took a 1-0 lead to the break.
In the second half, Sharks resorted to a mid-block defense, depending on transitions and counterattacks to hurt Seal, albeit cautiously.
Seal, on the other hand, were on an all-out attack to look for a goal that would impress their frustrated fans, but the Kevinluke Otiala-marshalled defense stood tall to ensure the 2018 Mozzart Bet Cup champions walked home with maximum points.
With the win, Sharks moved out of the relegation zone to occupy the 15th position with 29 points.
With Ulinzi Stars grabbing a 2-1 win in their clash against Bandari earlier, APS Bomet have now dropped into the relegation zone, but with a chance to leapfrog Ulinzi and Sharks should they win their match against Sofapaka on Sunday, 26 April.
