This was his third goal of the season since joining the club back in September.

Kenyan international Erick Kapaito bagged a penalty in the 1-1 stalemate against giants St. George in the Ethiopian Premier League on Wednesday.

Kapaito who is still adapting to the league after an outstanding season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) where he bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after plundering 24 goals is yet to capture his devastating form.

The 14-time Ethiopian champions have stuttered in recent seasons but look to have rediscovered their mojo as they currently sit at the summit of the log and hold a two-point advantage against their closest challengers Hawassa.

Arba Minch were handed a penalty in the 17th minute with Kapaito stepping up to take it and held his nerve, sending the keeper the wrong way to bag his third goal of the season.

The former Kariobangi Sharks forward looks to have taken the penalty duties from Workyitades Abebe who took a penalty back in November in the 2-1 win over Bahir Dar Kenama despite Kapaito winning the spot-kick.

This was the first time that St.George were conceding in six games with defensive solidity being the hallmark of their game this season and possess the meanest defense in the league.

In a game of penalties, St.George were handed their own with Ismail Ouro-Agoro showing ice in veins to restore parity for the table toppers at the stroke of the half hour mark.

Both teams had a number of chances in the closing half but failed to capitalize on efforts they had on goal as they settled for a point each with Arba Minch slowing inch away from the relegation zone.
