"I do not have any birth certificate, ID card or passport issued by the Democratic Republic of Congo. Let them show those documents if they exist at all"

The alleged papers of the Gabonese midfielder Guelor Kanga from his teenage days attracted a lot of attention on social networks. They say that the Red Star Belgrade football player was not born in 1990 but 1985. And his name is not Guelor Kanga but Kijaku-Kijaku Kijanga.

The Red Star soon reacted to that, emphasizing that they trust their player, and now, for the first time, Kanga himself has spoken. He denied the suspicions and accusations of the Congolese Association Football Federation.

"I remain entirely calm when it comes to the accusations of the Football Federation of DR Congo. I do not have any birth certificate, ID card or passport issued by the Democratic Republic of Congo. Let them show those documents if they exist at all. I have a valid passport issued by Gabonese legal authorities. That's all I can say, "he told the local media.

As a reminder, the The Gabonese Football Federation, after the accusations from Congo, sent its version of facts related to the case of Kanga to the African Football Confederation (CAF).

Kanga was accused of changing his identity, date and place of birth, and if these claims turn out to be true, Gabon would probably be eliminated from the African Cup of Nations to which they qualified, while a punishment would be expected for Kanga too.
