Reigning domestic cup champions Kakamega Homeboyz will face FKF National Division Two side Solian City FC in the 2024 Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 32 matches set to kick off in late February.

A total of 36 clubs that expressed interest to be involved in the tournament on Wednesday morning learnt their fate following a draw ceremony in Nairobi, one that attracted representatives from teams and Kenya football legend Edward Karanja.

Also present was Mozzart Bet Kenya Country Manager Sasa Krneta, who congratulated Football Kenya Federation for a great tournament last year, and hoped that the new edition would be even better.

"We are very delighted to be involved once again in this tournament," Krneta said of Mozzart Bet entering the second year of the Ksh. 60 million partnership with FKF as cup sponsors.

"I was keenly following last year's edition and want to confirm that we will continue to support this initiative set to grow our game."

In the draw, twelve teams randomly picked from two pots; Pot A and B, were drawn to take part in the initial phase of the tournament- preliminary round - set to take place on the weekend of 27-28 January.

The winners of the six ties, will subsequently proceed to the Round of 32, joining the 26 other teams, who received a bye.

The six matches will see Vegpro play Kenya Police, Wisdom Soccer Academy face off Posta Rangers, with two other FKF Premier League clubs - FC Talanta and Bandari playing Marafiki and Bungoma Stars FC.

Al Azizia will face NSL side Luanda Villa in the other match, with Eldoro SC Villa hosting Mombasa Stars.

In the Round of 32 matches, slated for 24-25 February, beaten finalists from the last edition - Tusker - visit Bumbani Stars of Division Two, with defending FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia playing Denmak FC, winners of the Rashid Super Cup last year.

Third place finishers in 2023 AFC Leopards will visit PAC University, while three-time champions Sofapaka face second-tier side Silibwet Leons.

"We thank Mozzart Bet for this lasting partnership," FKF Secretary General Barry Otieno said. "This edition has attracted teams all over the country and will for sure be an interesting tournament."
