Homeboyz were forced to bring in new personnel last month following the disastrous start in the season

Kakamega Homeboyz have strengthened their technical bench further by hiring CAF A license holder Hesbon Nyabinge as a second assistant coach.

Last month, Homeboyz settled for experienced tactician Francis Baraza as head coach with Paul Okatwa being handed the responsibility to deputise him.

The 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup champions employed the duo after parting ways with Kenneth Kenyatta, who had been in charge from the start of the season.

Kenyatta, was hired before the start of the season following the resignation of Patrick Odhiambo, who subsequently joined KCB.

However, the slow start in the season cost Kenyatta his job as he was reportedly asked to step aside, creating room for Baraza and Okatwa to chip in.

Club team manager Bonface Imbenzi confirmed that Nyabinge, a long term friend of the club, had joined the bench during the November FIFA international break.

"Nyabinge is our second assistant coach. He has been with us in the past week and we are looking forward to having him in the team for the longest," confirmed Imbenzi.

Meanwhile, Imbenzi regretted that the club will continue to do without the services of three key influential players when the league resumes this weekend.

He revealed that skipper Moses Mudavadi, his assistant Brian Eshihanda and fast-rising left back Enock Masinza will be unavailable for some time due to injuries.

Mudavadi, has been grappling with a recurring harmstring injury while Eshihanda picked up a similar problem during the first leg of the 2025 CHAN qualifier match against South Sudan.

Masinza, on the other hand, has been struggling with a knee injury since March and is feared to be facing a lengthy stay on the sidelines.

"We will not have them in our weekend game. At least Eshihanda has resumed training but our next game is too soon for him to feature," he added.

Abana Abeingo are scheduled to host Bandari on Saturday
