Allegri rested Vlahovic and enjoyed an easy victory, while the hosts are now seriously flirting with a relegation battle

Juventus are still finding their way through the cloud of dust left behind the Serie A top-trio (Milan, Inter, Napoli) but are improving as time goes by. After that 3-2 win against Empoli in the previous round, Bianconeri celebrated another, this time 3-1 at Sampdoria.

Even before halftime, Massimiliano Allegri's outfit killed the game with two balls in the back of Samp's net. Without impeccable Vlahovic in the starting XI - who was given a chance to relax a bit as a substitute - Juve didn't struggle in the offence, creating a substantial advantage early on.

In truth, the first one was an own goal, as Maya Yoshida turned in Cuadrado's cross to put the visitors in front.

That one-goal lead lasted for less than 10 minutes, as Sampdoria's Gambian defender Omar Colley halted Moise Kean in a prohibited way to provide Juve with a penalty. Morata was accurate from the spot, and the match was wrapped in within 34 minutes.

The Genoa-based underdogs returned fresh from the break and eager to level the fixture, but Szczesny kept the clean sheet despite several praiseworthy efforts.

Then, Rabiot's handball in 73rd resulted in a penalty, and Candreva stepped up to seize the gap, but the Polish keeper stopped it superbly.

However, even he was helpless following Sabiri's free-kick, as Morata accidentally deflected the ball in the wall to make it 2-1.

Still, there was plenty of time left for the Spanish striker to make amends, as he nailed a charming header for the final 3-1.

Juve continue their rather shy title quest, while the hosts fall to 16th place in Serie A table, with the relegation battle knocking on their doors loudly.
