Kulusevski, Morata and McKennie scored for the Old Lady

Juventus did it. They managed not to angry their supporters and played a good, uninteresting match in which they scored their goals on time and won comfortable: Juve – Genoa 3-1. Andre Pirlo’s men often produced unexpected draws, poor plays, defensive mistakes and surprising defeats this season, so this game was a pleasant change. The Old Lady is on course to secure their place in the Champions League, since the Serie A title is out of reach, considering that Inter managed another win today and is 12 points ahead.

It was a game in which Juventus was clearly a better team, and the players used their chances on time and controlled the game throughout the 90 minutes. Often criticized Kulusevski started the match today and immediately scored a nice goal, after an excellent assist from Cuadrado. There was no instant reply from Genoa, apart from a couple minutes of possession, so Juve increased the lead, after Morata was concentrated enough to follow up the Ronaldo’s miss and tap in the ball for 2-0.

But, just as the second half started, Genova managed to get one in, and keep Juve in an uncomfortable position. Scamacca rose above everybody else after a corner and managed to beat Szczesny.

Again we saw a battle between two penalty areas, where Genova tried but didn’t have the quality, while Juve as not so keen to go all out attack. Coach Andrea Pirlo made the right substitutions, because Weston McKennie came into the match in the 68th minute and scored in the 70th.

With this win, Juventus is definitely in the 3rd spot in Serie A, with only one point behind Milan, while Napoli moved into the final Champions League spot with an away win against Sampdoria. However, Atalanta has a chance to overtake that spot, if they win tonight against struggling Fiorentina.
