The former Atalanta defender could come back to Serie A if the clubs agree on the fee

Being relegated to the Championship means that Leicester City will have enormous difficulties in keeping quality players in their squad. While the "vultures" are already flying around James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, there are also clubs that are interested in less attractive and more affordable acquisitions like Timothy Castagne. The Foxes' right full-back is wanted by Juventus, whose leaders have contacted representatives of the English club, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The answer was that the Belgian cost 15,000,000 euros.

It's not too much money for a guy who, according to Transfermarkt, costs 28,000,000 euros and has two years left on his contract. At the same time, we should not forget that Castagne does his job equally well in the offensive game as well as in the defensive game, i.e. that he came to Leicester from Atalanta in 2020 - therefore, he is very familiar with the opportunities in Serie A, i.e. the way of playing there. Massimiliano Allegri has already given the nod to bring in Castagne, who he sees as very useful in his 3-5-2 system. The boy from Arlon would act as a right full-back, and he has shown countless times, both in Leicester and in Bergamo, how dangerous he is at the end of the attack, often in the jumping game. The position where Castagne is about to start if he signs with Juve belongs mainly to Colombian Juan Cuadrado, whose contract with the Bianconeri expires in less than two weeks and there are no indications that it will be extended.

Castagne came to Atalanta from Genk in the summer of 2017 for 6,500,000 euros and moved from Bergamo to Leicester three years later for 20,900,000 euros. For the Italian team, he played 96 games with eight goals scored and ten sets up, while for Leicester, he played 112 matches where he recorded five goals and eight assists. He made his debut for the Belgian national team in 2018 and has since played 31 games for the national team.
