Harambee Stars striker Piston Mutamba is trying out with Zambian Super League side Red Arrows, Mozzart Sport can report.

The 24-year-old former Wazito FC and Sofapaka SC forward has been with Nepal side Himalayan Sherpa Club in a season long deal since November last year, but has since left.

"I've been here for a week now, but I'm yet to sign a contract. My stay has been positive, and I'm confident things will work out," Mutamba told Mozzart Sport.

The ex-Bidco United player told Mozzart Sport in November 2021 that the move to Nepal was strategic to his future plans.

“I now put behind the past and focus on what is ahead. I know what has brought me to Nepal and I am going to give my best, this is an opportunity to kick start my career and I am going to grab it with both arms. In the end, the goal is to get better offers and as such, I first must do my best here for the success of the team and the rest will follow," he said.

Mutamba had expected to join Libyan side, Asswehly FC, but the deal fell through in the final stages after Bidco United, then his employer refused to let him leave the club on the Bossman. He then returned to the country and joined Sofapaka.

Red Arrows are based in the Zambian capital Lusaka. They play their home games at Nkoloma Stadium in Chelstone, Lusaka. Like Kenya's Ulinzi Stars, Arrows are sponsored by the Zambian Army.

The team is currently top of the Zambian top-flight after nine matches with twenty points, two points ahead of Power Dynamos.
