Mourinho was at his best at the press conference after a fantastic win
What a night for Benfica and Jose Mourinho! Former Real boss managed not only to defeat his ex team but also set up a potential rematch with the Madrid giants in two weeks. By winning 4-2 after a stunning goalkeeper‘s goal in injury time, Benfica managed to kick out Real from the top 8 and force them into two more games in the playoff round and also allowed them place in the same round, due to a better goal difference than Marseille.
So it was obvious that Mourinho was more than happy after the game. He has his five minutes of fame (again) at the press conference. The Portuguese expert explained that even he at one point didn‘t know that they needed one more goal for the playoffs.
"When I substituted Antonio and Ivanovic, I had no idea if 3-2 was enough or not, I didn't receive any instructions. When they came on, it was to secure the victory. When we realized it wasn't enough and they were down to ten men, I sent Nico to play up front, I couldn't make any more substitutions, the foul came and when it did, I sent Trubin forward, I told Dahl to stay in midfield, not to go there with 11 men" said Mourinho.
This ball boy will remember celebrating this winner with Jose Mourinho for the rest of his life😍😍😍

The former Chelsea, Inter and Real managed celebrated extensively as the game finished but later apologized to Arbeloa.
“I think it was absolutely deserved. Kylian had two chances and scored both goals. For Benfica, beating Real Madrid is an incredible honor. They hadn't played against them since the fantastic years when they met in the Champions League finals. And this is fantastic for the prestige of Benfica and the players. I celebrated. But Alvaro is a football man and he understood that in that moment you forget he's on the bench, that your teammates are there. You forget everything. I apologized for the celebration and he told me not to worry” explained the Benfica manager.

As always, the ‘Special one’ saved the best for the last.
"The only thing I'd like to see is a little bit of respect. I appeal to many of these people not to commit suicide, not to jump off balconies. Calm down. Benfica will lose, they can kill us again. But the only thing I'd like is a little bit of respect, for Benfica and for Benfica's players" he said.
