Jorginho embarrassment! This is the stupidest own goal we've seen lately

The experienced midfielder puts the ball into his net to deny the Gunners a friendly win in Germany

Jorginho had a day to forget as his poor attempted backpass resulted in an own goal that cost Arsenal a win in their pre-season friendly at FC Nurnberg.

Bukayo Saka had opened the scoring at Max-Morlock-Stadion in Nurnberg early on. Still, the Brazilian-born Italy international scored a freakish own goal to give the Germans a 1-1 draw against Mikel Arteta's team.

It's only pre-season, of course, but you don't expect to see things like this from such experienced players. The unwritten rule says: never put your backpasses on target - no matter what. Well, Jorginho probably thought he knew better.

Saka scored inside the opening ten minutes with a fine finish and led the Gunners, who looked rampant and dangerous. The English team created several chances, but they weren't enough.

The Gunners will travel to America to play the MLS All-Stars in Washington DC on Thursday and Manchester United in New Jersey two days later. As a climax of the trip across the Atlantic, Arsenal will play Barcelona in Los Angeles on 27 July before returning to England.
