The 28-year-old failed to score a league goal for Sagan Tosu last season.

Kenyan forward Ismael Dunga has joined Japanese third-tier side Kamatamare Sanuki on a season-long loan from Sagan Tosu after struggling in his maiden season.

The loan deal will expire on December 31, 2022, when the Japanese football calendar comes to an end but will not be able to play against Sagan Tosu should the two teams meet in Cup games.

Speaking after completing his move to Sanuki, Dunga revealed that he was delighted by the move and was eager to deliver goals on the pitch when he finally unites with the club.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Ismael Dunga, who came from Sagan Tosu for a loan transfer. I would like to contribute to Sanuki by scoring goals. I'm looking forward to seeing the Kamatamare Sanuki family at the stadium. Thank you," said Dunga.

The former Tusker FC forward had a nightmare season in Tosu last season as he failed to score a single league goal since completing his move back in January 2021.

Dunga struggled for game time towards the latter stages of the season as he was overlooked by the coach in matchday squads.

Sanuki are set to begin the season in early March with Dunga spotted in Tusker FC training sessions earlier on in the month.
