It's really hard to get rid of Trossard

The Belgian was close to a departure from Arsenal throughout the June Transfer Window, and now he suddenly got an option to sign a new deal with the Gunners with an increased salary
Arsenal have been after a reinforcement on the wing for several months now, but, as it seems from this perspective, Noni Madueke will remain their only addition in this position. And when you cannot bring someone new, make sure that you keep those who are already on the team.
During the entire June Transfer Window, Leandro Trossard was on the verge of leaving Emirates. Numerous clubs (Fenerbahce, Bayern Munich, some Saudi sides) were interested in him, and the Gunners were willing to get rid of him and keep Gabriel Martinelli, whose form wasn't much better, but the Brazilian's age (he is seven years younger than Trossard) worked in his favour.
However, once the North London side realized that its attempts to bring Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace or Real Madrid's Rodrygo would probably remain futile, they turned to tying the Belgian.
Interestingly, his new deal will only include a salary increase, but not a duration change, given that Trossard will remain bound to Arsenal until 2027 just as he's been so far.

Since joining the Gunners from Brighton for €24 million in January 2023, the 30-year-old has played 124 games and recorded 28 goals and 23 assists. However, his recent form hasn't been very good, and it's questionable if he can get back on track soon, especially now that he knows that the club desperately wanted to get rid of him and kept him just because it was forced to do so.
