It's official: Frank Lampard is back!

Frank Lampard is back! The former England and Chelsea midfielder has been given another chance to lead a Premier League club following his ill-fated stint in charge of Everton and the sacking in his first attempt of managing Chelsea three years ago.

The move marks a return to Stamford Bridge for Frank who enjoyed an illustrious playing career with the Blues, winning the Premier League on three occasions and the UEFA Champions League in Munich. He managed the club for 84 games, including guiding us to an FA Cup final.

Co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali welcomed Lampard back to Stamford Bridge.

We have an important game against Wolves on Saturday and then we will turn our attention to our Champions League quarter-final in Madrid next week. Former England midfielder Lampard had been out of a job since January when he was sacked by relegation-threatened Everton after less than a year in charge. He claimed he did not have to swallow his pride to return to Chelsea despite his brutal exit during Roman Abramovich's reign as owner.

The Blues legend couldn't refuse the opportunity to help a club so close to his heart after his 13-year spell as a Premier League and Champions League-winning Chelsea player.

"It's a pretty easy decision for me. This is my club. I have a lot of emotions and feelings."
