There are signs that the legendary Italian could return to the club where he spent his entire career
Roma icon Francesco Totti has confirmed he is in discussions to return to the club in a director role and revealed he recently “had dinner” with Giallorossi coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
The former striker is exploring a potential comeback to the Stadio Olimpico in an executive capacity. Senior advisor Claudio Ranieri had hinted a few weeks ago that Roma’s owners were considering reinstating the club legend with a hands-on role behind the scenes.

“I’ve always been a fan. To me, Roma is my home; it’s always been, even if I’m not there. I’m happy with what they are doing and their path,” Totti told Sky Sport Italia on Monday. “There have been rumours lately. It’s true, we are talking, discussing some details and deciding what’s best for everyone. I hope we can solve this situation soon. Sooner or later, surely we are talking about it.”
Totti also praised Gasperini, who took charge last summer, saying: “He has started on the right foot, and we are cheering him on for a return to the Champions League. I had dinner with him, and we spoke a bit about everything, not just about football.”
“Return to Roma? We’re talking about it. There’s still some details to work out but I can confirm we’re thinking about it. Let’s see if it will happen”

Roma currently sit fourth in Serie A following a 2-2 draw at Napoli on Sunday. The Giallorossi have 47 points—one more than fifth-placed Juventus, who visit the Olimpico for a pivotal Serie A clash on March 1.
A one-club man, Totti spent his entire playing career at Roma, scoring 307 goals in 786 appearances and lifting the Serie A title in 2000-01.
