It was revealed that the Toffies star was a wanted man

Six players arrived at the Giuseppe Meazza this September, and Inter spent close to 90,000,000 euros for them. After long negotiations with Atalanta, the Nerazzurri failed to land their top target, Ademola Lookman. La Dea demanded 50,000,000, while Inter tried to lower the price and include bonuses, but no agreement was reached. However, according to the reputable The Athletic, the Italian giant approached Everton during the recent transfer window regarding striker Iliman Ndiaye. Reportedly, the Nerazzurri opened talks with the Toffees with an offer of 52,000,000 euros, but the Premier League club did not want to enter further negotiations and thanked them for their interest.

It seems the Liverpool-based club’s executives were well aware of the quality they had in their ranks. They signed Ndiaye from Marseille in June 2024, and the Senegalese forward, born in Rouen, France, delivered nine goals in his debut Premier League season (not counting the 11 minutes he played for Sheffield in the 2020/21 campaign). The Senegalese forward already has four goals in the first 11 matches of the current season. Whenever he scored, Everton collected 10 out of a possible 12 points, and both European and English clubs are increasingly paying attention to the 25-year-old, who shone in the 2022/23 Championship season (14 goals and 11 assists) playing for Sheffield.

Everton are protected by the fact that Ndiaye’s contract runs until the May 2029, and that he is happy at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He is not among the team’s highest earners, but the club’s executives could soon sit down at the negotiating table and offer him a raise along with the status of one of the team’s key players. As for a future sale, that will come sooner or later. It’s unlikely to surpass Romelu Lukaku’s 84,700,000 club record, but it could be in the range of Amadou Onana, who left for Aston Villa two years ago for nearly 60,000,000 euros.
