Inter make amends for three draws in the last four games by trashing Verona

The holders were eager to secure the win early on and now are back at the top, only a point adrift of AC Milan
Simone Inzaghi's Inter have propelled after that enormous away victory at Juventus in the previous Serie A round and are still holding on to that wave. Today they've topped Verona 2-0 at home.
Nerazzurri are definitely over with that dreadful period, embellished with three draws out of four games against mid-table slots. Those failures have moved them away from the title chase, but the reigning champions are now back in 'business'.
Inter are currently the runners-up, with only a point behind their city rival, Milan, and with lots of games yet to be played.
Verona were nowhere near dangering them at the Guiseppe Meaza stadium, as Nicolo Barella put the hosts in front 22 minutes into the game.
It was a result of Perisic's excellent run on the left flank and another superb Croat cross. Barella was left unmarked on the far post and nailed it under the bar to break the deadlock.
Soon enough, it was 2-0, thanks to ex-Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian marksman reacted superbly to double the lead and prove he's anything but approaching his retirement despite the age of 36.
The second half sunk into a lullaby song as both teams concentrated on the battle in the midfield. The visitors engaged quite a few times in the opposite half, but Handanovic managed to keep a clean sheet.
