Calhanoglu, Barella and Thuram find the back of the net for a surprisingly brutal 3-0 away win against the defending champions

Inter Milan cruised through Neaples on Sunday night with a thumping 3-0 victory over reigning champion Napoli.

Victor Osimhen was back in the starting XI for Walter Mazzarri's side two months after sustaining a thigh injury, but it didn't save the Partenopei from their second loss in a row after that one at Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek.

Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, and Marcus Thuram found the back of the net for the win of Simone Inzaghi's team, which took them straight to the top of the Serie A table.

The deadlock was broken just before the interval, thanks to Calhanoglu's lovely strike from 20 yards out into the bottom corner. Napoli were furious, feeling Lautaro Martinez had fouled Lobotka much earlier in the move, but it stayed 0-1 on the scoreboard.

Inter doubled their lead with Barella's first Serie A goal of the season.

The hosts tried to fight back, but the Nerazzurri held out under pressure and added a third late on. Barella found Cuadrado down the right, with the ball rolled across the six-yard box for a Thuram's tap-in.
