Inter are eyeing Liverpool duo for the next season

Reports in Italy suggest Inter are monitoring two Liverpool players and could move for both in the summer window ahead of the 2026-27 season.
According to Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato, the Nerazzurri may return to the negotiating table for midfielder Curtis Jones. Inter were previously linked with the Englishman during the January window, with speculation intensifying toward the deadline.
Those reports indicated Inter were prepared to pursue Jones if Davide Frattesi departed in the final days of the window, but neither transfer ultimately materialised.
However, the situation could change after the end of the season.
Inter may be forced into reshaping their midfield: Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out of contract and could retire at the end of the season, Hakan Calhanoglu remains a priority target for his boyhood club Galatasaray, and there have even been suggestions that Nicolo Barella's long-term future is no longer guaranteed.
With uncertainty surrounding several key figures, Inter could revisit talks for Jones. In January, discussions reportedly centred on a loan deal with a €40m option to buy.
Unless he signs an extension before the campaign ends, Jones will also enter the final year of his Liverpool contract this July - a detail that could strengthen Inter's position.
Friday's reports add that Inter are also interested in Liverpool defender Giovanni Leoni.
The teenager joined the Reds in a €35m deal last year, but suffered a devastating ACL injury on his first start, limiting him to just 81 minutes of action this season.
Corriere dello Sport claims Liverpool could consider sending Leoni out on loan in 2026-27 to ensure regular first-team football. Should that happen, Inter would reportedly be keen to offer him a temporary return to Serie A.
