Gunners hit by growing fitness concerns after Carabao Cup heartbreak
Arsenal's injury concerns continue to mount, with Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard both withdrawing from international duty this month.
Brazil confirmed Gabriel will miss the upcoming friendlies against France tonight (11 pm) and Croatia (April 1) after experiencing pain in his right knee following the EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester City. Medical assessments ruled him out, with no replacement called up.
Trossard, meanwhile, will not travel with Belgium for their US tour, which includes fixtures against the United States and Mexico national teams. The exact nature of his injury has not been disclosed.
They are not alone.
William Saliba has already withdrawn from the France squad with ankle pain, while Eberechi Eze misses England duty due to a calf injury that also ruled him out of the cup final.
It leaves Arsenal facing a familiar test of how to absorb setbacks without losing momentum.
There was at least one positive note: Ben White has been recalled to the England squad for the first time since the 2022 World Cup, replacing the injured Jarell Quansah.
Gabriel has been a near ever-present this season, making 38 appearances despite an earlier hamstring issue, while Trossard was forced off late in Sunday's final after only recently returning from injury.
