Omondi underwent unspecified surgery and he will sit out of eague acton for a month.
FKF Premier League side, Kakamega Homeboyz have confirmed that midfielder Francis Omondi will be out for a month after undergoing an unspecified minor surgery.
Omondi, has been inspirational for the side since he joined the team last season from Mathare United and his absence will be a big blow for the Kakamega-based side who are yet to lose a match this season. Five matches into the new campaign, Homeboyz have won four and registered one draw and Omondi has been in the thick of things with his inspirational performance in the middle of the park.
In a brief statement, the Bernard Mwalala led team announced that the former Mathare United and Modern Coast Rangers midfield enforcer will sit out of matches for the next four weeks which could mean that he could miss up to four games should the league resume on 4th December as announced by the FKF Caretaker committee.

“Update: Midfield dynamo Francis Omondi will be out for four weeks after undergoing a minor surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery,” the club said in a statement.
In his absence, Mwalala will turn to his bench for options. Estone Esiye, Stephen Wakanya, and Sunday Mutuku can all play in that position and the tactician will be hoping that they can maintain the high standards set up by workaholic midfielder.
Meanwhile, the team is keeping its level of performance through training and friendly matches. Mwalala says they are playing lower league sides in a bid to remain match-fit ahead of the highly anticipated league resumption on 4th December.
Homeboyz will open the campaign with a match against Sofapaka in Nairobi when the FKF Premier League resumes.
