Okumu picked up an injury in the last league encounter against AIK.
Kenyan international Joseph Okumu has been ruled for the next three Elfsborg encounters after suffering an injury in the 1-0 loss to AIK on Sunday.
Okumu went down with an injury in the 84th minute in the Swedish Allsvenskan clash against AIK dubbed the Harambee Stars derby due to Eric Ouma featuring for the latter and was replaced by Christopher Mcvey.
Elfsborg club doctor Matilda Lundblad revealed that Okumu is set to be on the sidelines for two weeks after suffering the injury.
“An injury to the membrane around the muscle in the calf. The return period to football is about two weeks,” said Lundblad in an interview with Fotbollskanalen.
Okumu is now set to miss games against Kalmar, Sirius and Halmstad with Elfsborg enduring a mixed start to the season that has seen them lose twice and win on two occasions.

The 23-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Scottish champions Rangers but recent reports from Sweden indicate the Napoli, Valencia and nice have joined the race for his services.
The former Chemelil Sugar defender is open to a move but is not particularly interested in a move to a top club at the expense of his development.
“The Swedish league is a springboard for all players. If you do it well, hopefully the right opportunity arises. If the right option emerges, I definitely want to take the next step,”
“It depends on the project. It’s not just about going to a top league or a top team. It’s all about where I can go and develop, where my playing style fits and where I can make an impression,” said Okumu.
