Aussems made good his promise of returning to The Den.

Fresh from a morale-boosting fundraiser, AFC Leopards have been handed yet another shot in the arm after Belgian head coach Patrick Aussems, true to his word, jetted back into the country to continue with his stay at the 12-time Kenyan champions.

Two matches before the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) campaign came to a complete end back in August, the former Simba SC boss left the country for his native in Belgium for some short holiday.

But with just two days before the 2021/2022 season commenced, the head coach was nowhere to be seen, sending shivers down Ingwe's spines after unverified reports had started to grow that the coach might not be back at The Den after just being in charge for seven months.

Those fears were however allayed as the tactician promised to get back to The Den and continue with his reawakening of the sleeping giants.

“Tired of rumours, fake news. l am a man of my word and despite difficult times for the club, l will be back next week to help Ingwe to become the flagship club of the country again. Tuwe pamoja kufanikisha lengo hili! (Let's stick together to achieve this goal) See you very soon!” he posted on his social media platform days earlier.

True to his word, the coach who steered Ingwe to a fourth-place finish last season jetted back into the country on Friday evening to continue his reign at Ingwe.

Immediately after arriving at night, the Ingwe head coach hit the ground running as he stood on the touchlines of Ingwe's Saturday friendly match against Makadara Youth.

With the league currently on an international break, the head coach will resume his head coaching duties against KCB whom they face in their second match of the season.
