Frenchman's hat-trick tames the Bulls at Giuseppe Meazza

Inter Milan's third consecutive victory across all competitions was secured thanks to Marcus Thuram and his hat-trick which powered the Nerazzurri to a 3-2 win over Torino, marking their sixth straight home triumph in Serie A against this opponent.

Heading into the match, Inter and Torino were level on points after seven rounds, but the visitors wasted no time trying to break the deadlock. Samuele Ricci came close early on with a thunderous 30-yard strike, forcing Yann Sommer into a fine save. However, Torino's plans unraveled midway through the first half when Guillermo Maripán's reckless tackle on Marcus Thuram, initially deemed a yellow-card offense, was upgraded to a red after a VAR review.

It was Thuram who had the last word, recovering from the foul to head in Alessandro Bastoni's inviting cross and give Inter the lead with their first real chance of the game. Inter's second opportunity yielded another goal, almost in identical fashion. This time, it was Francesco Acerbi who delivered a pinpoint cross, and Thuram once again rose to head it past Vanja Milinković-Savić, doubling his tally for the night. Torino, despite being down to 10 men, responded immediately, with Gvidas Gineitis setting up Duván Zapata to slot home and silence the San Siro.

Thuram, however, was unstoppable and completed his hat-trick early in the second half. His third goal wasn’t as stylish as the first two, but it proved effective as he reacted quickest to a rebound, scuffing his shot over Milinković-Savić and into the net. By then, the points seemed secured for Inter, though they missed a chance to make the scoreline more comfortable when Acerbi blazed over from close range.

Torino made the closing moments nervy for the hosts, as Nikola Vlašić converted a late penalty to make it 3-2, but Inter held firm to complete a perfect week, winning all three of their matches. Despite the victory, Simone Inzaghi will be concerned by how his side struggled to close out the game against 10-man Torino. Credit must go to the visitors, who saw their three-match unbeaten away run end but can take pride in their resilient display.
