In a match that was far from easy, Real Madrid managed to defeat Mallorca at home and record their second league victory.
Real Madrid and Mallorca played an intense first half that ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts, with both teams creating several chances and the scoreboard reflecting a hard-fought battle.
The opening minutes saw Kylian Mbappe combine with a teammate just outside the box and fire a shot into the right corner in the 7th minute. However, after a VAR check for offside, the goal was disallowed, leaving the score level.

Before halftime, Real had additional opportunities, with Trent Alexander-Arnold firing just past the left post in the 42nd minute, and Mbappe narrowly missing from a good pass by Guler in the 43rd minute. Real Madrid thought they had extended their lead in the 55th minute when Arda Guler pounced on a rebound inside the box and smashed the ball into the right side of the net. The Santiago Bernabeu erupted in celebration, but the joy was short-lived. Referee Jose Sanchez immediately called for a VAR check to review a possible handball in the buildup. After consulting the replay, the goal was disallowed, leaving the score at 2-1.

Just a few minutes later, in the 69th minute, Martin Valjent unleashed a powerful strike toward the left side of the goal, but Madrid’s keeper reacted superbly to deny what could have been a dramatic equalizer.
