In politics, there is the left, the right and the right-footed Mbappe! Ten people voted for the PSG star

We won't hold it against you if you haven't been following the politics-related news coming from France. If you're anything like us at Mozzart Sport Kenya, you're more interested in who has been called up to play at left-back for France than which political party is the most influential in the French parliament. But here's a piece of news from recent presidential elections in France: Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe won ten votes in a small village in eastern France!

It's been a tight presidential race. Current president Emanuel Macron narrowly beat Marine Le Pen, the representative of the right-oriented National Rally, but another candidate got on the 'scoresheet'. Kylian Mbappe has been given ten votes in the village of Tallenay in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comte region in eastern France.

Now, those ten votes won't make Mbappe president of France, but it's a pretty good result for a man that didn't even run for president, nor he tried to promote his political ideology.

All he'd done was score goals and did his job well in a PSG team where many things didn't work quite so well this season. Despite winning the Ligue 1 title, their early exit from the Champions League and poor chemistry inside the squad made the fans fall out of love with their club a bit.

Before you dismiss Mbappe's ten votes, please note that the population of Tallenay is just over 300 - and not all of those people are allowed to vote. So, it's a pretty decent result - for a footballer.

Kylian's contract at Paris Saint-Germain is running out, so the forward will have to make a few decisions in a couple of months. It's implausible that he'll decide to commit himself to politics while he's so young and good at football. But hey, you always have to have a plan B.
