Imagine Neymar in City. Only not that City, but their much weaker affiliate

Reports are circulating that the MLS club New York City FC are interested in the 31-year-old Brazilian forward

In truth, seeing Neymar in Manchester City shirt would probably be the most exciting moment of this entire transfer window by a mile. But that ain't going to happen, and the only possibility of any cooperation between the PSG attacker and City could be his move to one of the members of the City Football Group, namely New York City Football Club.

And that's not thrilling at all. Moreover, it's even a bit disappointing for such a superstar to end up - with all due respect - in the MLS (Major League Soccer) when he's still capable of delivering cutting-edge performances for at least three or four years more.

Anyhow, as things stand, the chances of seeing Neymar in the same league as Lionel Messi are not that bad.

According to The Secret Scout - Twitter and Instagram accounts specialised in football transfers (they were the first to reveal Enzo Fernandez's move to Chelsea, for instance) - the offer has already been sent to the player.

"Understand New York City FC are trying to sign Neymar. The club have offered Neymar a deal, but no decision has been made. Lots of interest in the Brazilian. NYCFC want to bring him to the MLS," The Secret Scout wrote on social media.

Considering Neymar's substantial commercial capacity and potential, together with NYC's aura and pulsating life, we could see this deal being done sooner rather than later.
