The Stuttgart defender admits to his affection for PSG and Chelsea

Stuttgart defender Dan-Axel Zagadou is a model professional. As such, he says he doesn't have a favourite club. But it took German reporters only a few minutes to find out what colours are close to his heart.

The 24-year-old, who had a lengthy spell at Borussia Dortmund before joining Stuttgart on a free transfer, reflected on his career and admitted his interest in potentially playing for Chelsea, a club he holds in high regard.

Despite his career being mainly in France and Germany, Zagadou disclosed his affinity for English football and the possibility of a move to the Premier League. His admiration for Chelsea is likely influenced by his admiration for one world-class striker.

"I'm a professional now, so I don't have a favourite club anymore. When I was little, I was a big fan of Paris Saint-Germain. And I always liked Chelsea because of Didier Drogba. Because of my Ivorian roots, Drogba is a great role model for me that I look up to. My father is also a huge fan of his. In Ivory Coast, he is a national hero."

Zagadou played for US Creteil-Lusitanos from 2006 to 2011, for Paris Saint-Germain from 2011 to 2017, for Borussia Dortmund from 2017-2022 and has played for Stuttgart since last year. The French-Ivorian has played 96 matches throughout his career in the Bundesliga. Of these, he has won 56. He has netted five goals in the Bundesliga.
