The Blaugrana reach an agreement with the legendary rock band ahead of the upcoming La Liga derby

Barcelona will wear a jersey featuring The Rolling Stones' iconic Tongue and Lips logo for the first time in the upcoming El Clasico on 28 October.

Barca said that the agreement with The Rolling Stones brings "the spirit of a band that has played all over the world to a global stage like that" El Clasico boasts.

"The Stones have provided the soundtrack to millions of lives of several generations and have more than enough curriculum to be candidates to appear on the Barca shirt, but they have been chosen at this precise moment because on Friday, October 20, they will release their new album, 'Hackney Diamonds', the first with new studio songs since 2005," the club explained on Thursday morning.

On the other hand, the band also shared their view of this suprsing cooperation.

"We're huge football fans and honoured that Spotify have brought our Tongue & Lips logo to grace the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones' new 'Hackney Diamonds' album. We'll be cheering on the players on the pitch as well as fans around the world who will be tuning in to watch this iconic match."

Last season, for the same fixture at the Camp Nou, Barca used the logo of famous Catalan singer Rosalia on their way to a 2-1 win over their bitter rivals which effectively sealed the La Liga title.
