Experienced Stars forward yet to break the league duck while in Sofapaka colours
Harambee Stars forward Timothy Otieno has quelled suggestions that he is under pressure to deliver his first Sofapaka league goal.
Otieno joined the 2009 league champions in February after parting ways with Zambian Premier League outfit Napsa Stars but has experienced an unusual goal drought since returning to the local scene.
His arrival at the club was seen as a perfect solution to their blunt striking front courtesy of the goal scoring form he was enjoying in the league before heading South for greener pastures.
The former Gor Mahia man has one goal against his name while in the blue and white robes after he found the back of the net in a FA Cup round of 64 match against minnows Kitale All Stars.

The former Posta Rangers player who made his league debut during their 2-0 win over Zoo FC in February says he is certain that the goal taps will open once he gets over the recurring injuries which he singled out to blame for his lost goal scoring instincts.
“I am not under pressure to score my first Sofapaka goal at all. I have been unlucky in front of the goal and have battled recurring injuries in the past months. When I joined, I suffered an ankle injury and currently I have a knee injury,” he said.
Besides blaming injuries and hard luck for prolonging the wait for his maiden league goal, the former Tusker man said that the playing unit had not gelled and hence the supply was not sufficient.

Batoto Ba Mungu who broke the bank to sign big names in the summer and February transfer windows have been struggling to win matches in a convincing way and consequently sit 12th with 22 points.
The club was recently bundled out of the FA Cup after losing 2-0 to Ulinzi Stars in a round of 32 match.
“The team has not been doing well either due to the fact that the starting team is largely made up of new players who are yet to get the winning rhythm. However, all indications are rife that we will be a force to reckon with in the near future,” he added.
