The Polish striker got injured during the international break and will miss a couple of games

The infirmary was already full even before the players left for their national teams, and now Barcelona’s medical staff will have to find room for one more — Robert Lewandowski. He played on Sunday against Lithuania, even scored a goal, completed the entire match, but then felt pain. As soon as he returned to Catalonia, tests were carried out, and the first information Hansi Flick received was not good: Robert Lewandowski will miss El Clasico!

Barcelona announced that Robert Lewandowski has injured the tendon in his left leg. He is expected to be sidelined for between three and six weeks. The exact length of his absence will depend on how quickly he recovers, but one thing is certain: he will definitely miss the matches against Girona, Olympiacos in the Champions League, Real Madrid, and Elche. That’s if he recovers quickly — if it takes longer, he’ll miss even more games. A serious blow for Barcelona…

Hansi Flick already knows what he’s dealing with ahead of El Clasico and has two options: either use Ferran Torres as a “false nine,” which has happened quite often, or move Marcus Rashford into that position. He’ll have a little over ten days to decide how to approach the clash with their great rival. The good news for Barcelona is that Lamine Yamal should recover in time for El Clasico. He’s one of the injured players, alongside Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermín Lopez, and goalkeepers Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Joan García.
