Chelsea would welcome a bid because they need to avoid FFP sanctions

Inter Milan are resigned to losing their star defender Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. Rather than dwell on the loss, the Italian club are looking at possible replacements - and they could help Chelsea in the process.

Namely, one of the options to fill the gap in the backline is Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah. The 23-year-old defender hasn't been playing regularly for the Blues despite signing a new six-year contract back in November.

He has made 19 appearances for the Blues this season but could fall down the pecking order following the arrivals of Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.

Selling Chalobah could help Chelsea comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, with the club able to make a 100% profit on him because he came through the club's academy, which would help balance the books.

Chalobah, who has spent time out on loan at Ipswich, Huddersfield and French club Lorient, has made a total of 48 appearances for Chelsea since making his debut but could now follow Fikayo Tomori in swapping west London for Serie A.
