Ogada expressed optimism about the team’s chances of securing promotion to the Kisumu County League in the upcoming campaign
Ogenya Football Club landed four invitations to festive season tournaments within Kisumu City and its environs.
Head coach Philip Ochia viewed the tournaments as an opportunity to fine-tune the team’s tactics, ahead of the new season, while also showcasing some of the club’s standout players to bigger teams.

However, one major challenge threatened to derail those plans and put the club at risk of failing to honor the invitations.
The team had just wrapped up a grueling 2025 campaign in the Kadibo Sub-County League in Kisumu, which left their uniforms and footballs tattered, putting their participation in the tournaments at risk.
However, leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet came to the club’s rescue by donating 23 full sets of uniforms and two footballs following a request from team manager Paul Ogada.
The club, which roared to life in 2010, received the donation courtesy of the firm’s initiative dubbed New Jersey for New Champions, which seeks to uplift grassroots football clubs.
“We were not sure about participating in the festive season activities because we lacked uniforms and footballs. We had planned to raise funds to buy new ones ahead of the new season in January. However, we are grateful to Mozzart Bet for kitting us,” said Ogada.
Meanwhile, Ogada expressed optimism about the team’s chances of securing promotion to the Kisumu County League in the upcoming campaign.
He revealed that the technical bench had carried out extensive scouting and was in the process of identifying more exciting talent to help the club achieve its targets.
“Our goal is to rise all the way to the top in the future. We hope to reach the County League in the new campaign and export as many talents as possible,” Ogada added.
