How many lives does Slot have left? Liverpool led 2–0 and 3–2, only to end up with a single point

In a crazy match, Leeds followed up their win over Chelsea by tripping up another giant, holding Liverpool to a 3–3 draw at home

Catastrophic results continue for Liverpool. Even before the match against Leeds, there was talk of Arne Slot’s potential sacking — what will happen to him now after a 3–3 draw with Leeds?

Leeds started the match with real intent, creating their first chance as early as the 2nd minute. Swiss international Okafor received the ball on the edge of the box and struck toward goal, but his shot went just wide of Liverpool’s post. Only a minute later, Leeds produced another attempt: after a corner, Gudmundsson gathered the ball around 20 meters out and fired, but his effort sailed over the bar.

Liverpool responded in the 16th minute with a huge chance of their own. Curtis Jones worked himself some space near the edge of the area and curled a beautiful effort that beat the goalkeeper but crashed against the crossbar. Moments later, Ekitike came close as well, shooting through a crowded box, only for his attempt to deflect off a Leeds defender and go over the goal.

In the 27th minute, Liverpool threatened again, this time from a set piece. Virgil van Dijk rose highest to meet a free-kick from the right flank, but his header drifted just over Perri’s crossbar.

The final notable moment of the half came in the 40th minute, when Gakpo controlled a long ball superbly, drove forward on a solo run, and struck toward the far post — but his shot went wide to the right.

Liverpool opened the second half with a bang. In the 48th minute, Hugo Ekitike intercepted a cross from Joe Rodon, weaved past several defenders, and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to give the visitors an early lead.

Just three minutes later, Ekitike doubled his tally, throwing himself at Conor Bradley’s cross to bundle the ball into the net. A brief offside check confirmed he was onside, and the goal stood.

Leeds responded with chances of their own. In the 67th minute, Cody Gakpo broke down the left side of Leeds’ box and fired, but Perri did well to keep the shot out.

Four minutes later, in the 71st minute, a penalty was awarded to the home side after a VAR review. Ibrahima Konate’s needless foul on Gnonto, in a situation that wasn’t dangerous for Liverpool, gave Leeds a spot-kick. Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted from the penalty spot to make it 2–1.

Leeds continued their fightback. In the 75th minute, Stach received the ball inside Liverpool’s box, drove through the defense, and struck well past Alisson to level the score at 2–2.

Liverpool reclaimed the lead in the 80th minute. Dominik Szoboszlai netted a crucial goal after a fine move involving Gravenberch, and McAlister, calmly slotting the ball past the Leeds goalkeeper to make it 3–2.

Leeds came close to equalizing again in the 82nd minute when Tanaka unleashed a powerful strike from around 25 meters, but Alisson was alert to push the ball away.
