The midfielder opens up on their superb run in the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup and their push for automatic promotion

At just 22, Elvis Muyale has quietly become the heartbeat of Mfalme FC’s remarkable season, a campaign that has transformed the Eldoret-based FKF Division One side into one of the most talked-about teams in Kenyan football.

Mfalme FC’s fairytale run in the Mozzart Bet Cup captured national attention after the Division One outfit stunned top-flight sides, including Murang'a Seal FC, before eventually bowing out in the quarter-finals to Bandari FC in Mombasa.

While the cup journey may be over, Mfalme’s league ambitions remain very much alive.

After 24 matches, the club sits top of the FKF Division One standings with 50 points, having lost only twice all season.

At the center of that consistency has been Muyale, the holding midfielder who has featured in every single match and provided the balance that allows the team to thrive.

His rise at the club began with a statement performance.

“My journey began with a debut against Chebaiywa Lions in a home match where I came out man of the match. The coaches then took notice,” he said.

From there, he quickly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet, anchoring the midfield with maturity beyond his years.

Muyale credits much of his growth to his father, whom he describes as both mentor and inspiration.

“My father is my true football inspiration. He is my mentor and everything I do I always consult him and he really supports me,” he said.

On the pitch, Muyale sees his role as more than simply breaking up opposition attacks.

The midfielder prides himself on reading the game and keeping the team balanced during transitions.

“In the midfield position, my main task is to give balance to the team when in possession. That means I have to be great in anticipation and be quick in transitions.”

That tactical discipline has helped him maintain a remarkable record this season, playing every match in a demanding campaign across league and cup competitions.

According to Muyale, consistency comes down to discipline and preparation.

“I’ve featured in every single match and the secret to that for me is discipline. I do a lot of personal training. The most important thing is to maintain a good relationship with teammates and play according to instructions.”

The midfielder believes Mfalme FC’s success this season has been built on collective sacrifice and an unwavering work ethic.

“We believe hard work always pays as a team. No shortcuts. That is what has carried us through the season and even gave us a strong Mozzart Bet Cup run.”

Despite the painful quarter-final exit to Bandari FC, Muyale insists the experience offered valuable lessons for the squad as they continue pushing for promotion.

“We took further tactical awareness lessons from them. They are a big team but we gave a good fight ourselves.”

Now, with the league entering a decisive phase, the target inside the Mfalme FC camp is crystal clear — promotion to the National Super League.

We want promotion into the National Super League, nothing more since we aren’t in the Mozzart Bet Cup anymore,” Muyale said.

And while the team dream remains his immediate priority, the midfielder also has his eyes fixed on an even bigger future.

“In the next five years, I personally want to be in the Premier League and I really hope it will be with Mfalme FC.”
