Emil Holm had all kinds of issues and muscle injuries in the recent past, before the Italian doctors found an unconventional way to resolve it

It might sound bizarre and crazy, but we probably don't know much about the connection between some parts of our bodies, like the teeth and leg muscles.

Thankfully, Italian doctors are well aware of it, and they could potentially save the career of the Swedish Bologna right-back Emil Holm. In an interview with the newspaper Aftonbladet from his home country, the 25-year-old player revealed that he was sent to the dentist in Italy to remove a wisdom tooth to cure his recurring hamstring problems!? According to Holm, doctors told him there is a correlation between the two and that it will be solved now.

This month was useful for further investigations, which revealed that postural problems and muscle tension would arise precisely from the teeth:

"I was told I had a tightness in my jaw that was probably spreading throughout my body.

"I passed 40 minutes of panic, I hate the dentist: syringes, blood, it's the kind of pain I just can't stand, but they told me that this way I won't have any more accidents," Holm explained.

Last season, the player suffered five injury blows, four of them due to muscle problems, and thus missed ten games. This year, a hamstring injury has already forced him to spend a month in the hospital.

Believe it or not, this method of treatment is not unprecedented in Italy since legendary Clarence Seedorf went through similar problems while at Inter Milan. After moving to their city rival, AC Milan, the Rossoneri doctors detected the teeth issue, and after the successful removal of his wisdom teeth, his career continued without any serious injuries for many more years.

The same happened to Arsenal's centre-back Tony Adams, and according to a 15-year-old The Guardian article, the Gunners applied the same treatment to their then-star Cesc Fabregas after a series of hamstring problems.
