A few months after Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club, his compatriot and top talent Arsen Zakharyan, 19, is on the verge of signing a contract with the Blues
When we heard the news of Arsen Zakharyan's move to Chelsea, we couldn't but think of that famous Sting's song 'Hope that Russians love their children, too', which was released at the moment of the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the changes that followed.

A new geopolitical crisis and issues (the war in Ukraine) some 30 years later caused an avalanche of changes that forced Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea FC. Thanks to this, the Blues were detached from any connections with Russia and ties with Vladimir Putin, but, obviously, it doesn't mean the West Londoners will forever stay away from Russians.
As per several sources, Chelsea are on the verge of signing Dinamo Moscow midfielder and top talent Arsen Zakharyan.
Chelsea's scouts monitored the 19-year-old versatile player for some time, and his remarkable set of skills convinced Thomas Tuchel and the club to go on with the transfer.
The Russian attacking midfielder picked up seven goals and eight assists in 29 league appearances last season. He's followed that up with an impressive start to this campaign too.
It's a move that would continue Chelsea's summer of signing young starlets from across Europe. They've signed Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei for above €15m each already, and Zakharyan would join that club of top teenage talent ready to be integrated.
