Man City's boss is aware of how atrocious this season has been for his team. The FIFA Club World Cup is around the corner, but not even that could make it better
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks his squad doesn't deserve any of the £97m prize money the club could earn by winning the FIFA Club World Cup.
FIFA has announced the performance-related rewards for this summer's expanded 32-team event in the United States.
However, even if the Cityzens celebrate a victory in the showdown at the MetLife Stadium on July 13, the Spaniard believes that he, his staff and players should not receive any additional reward.
City were eliminated from the Champions League before the last-16 stage for the first time since 2013 and are currently fifth in the Premier League - and under severe pressure to secure qualification to Europe's elite competition next season.
"We don't deserve a bonus this season," said Guardiola, ahead of City's FA Cup clash against Bournemouth on Sunday. "The bonus, if you win, I don't know how much, it's for the club.
"The managers, the backroom staff, the players, we don't deserve - not even a watch."

Manchester City will start their campaign against Moroccan side Wydad in Philadelphia on June 18 and have been drawn in a group along with Al Ain from Abu Dhabi and Juventus.
Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain will also participate in this newly reinvented competition.
