Hodgson gang secures safety with a win in a seven-goal thriller against West Ham

Crystal Palace beat the Hammers 4-3 in a spectacular match that saw as many as five goals in the opening 35 minutes

The opening match of this Premier League round was 15 minutes late due to turnstile issues at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon, but that delay didn't cause any disturbance with the players of Crystal Palace and West Ham whatsoever.

As a matter of fact, they were so inspired that we've got ourselves a true football spectacle embellished with five goals between the 9th and the 35th minute!

Palace came from behind (Soucek scored the opener nine minutes into the match) to go 3-2 up before the half-time interval.

Ayew, Zaha and Schlupp netted for the hosts, while Michail Antonio made sure to keep his side in the game with the Hammers' second goal of the game.

When the sides returned from the break, this vicious rollercoaster continued, with Eze making it 4-2 from the spot, but Aguerd responded for 4-3.

It stayed that way all the way until the end, as Roy Hodgson's slot secured the Premiership survival, while the visitors are expecting a vigorous relegation battle, with Everton and Nottingham Forest pushing for the scenario that would see the Hammers going back to the second tier after 12 years.
