Hero's welcome for kind soul Rudiger as he touches down in Sierra Leone

Chelsea superstar took to fly to Africa and set up a charity foundation
You could see how much the people of Sierra Leone love one of their most famous sons, Antonio Rudiger, when he found his way back to the country of his roots to set up a charity organisation.
There were dozens of adoring fans looking forward to catching a glimpse and a photo of Chelsea's star defender. Even though life has taken the footballer far away and he ended up representing Germany, the welcome he received in Freetown showed that Antonio is really one of them.

Rudiger supported many causes in his second home and in 2020 donated $101,000 to support Free Quality Education in Sierra Leone. He also collaborated with Big Shoe to help 11 physically challenged children with medical operations.

Earlier this month, he shared a post on Twitter thanking Big Shoe for their work. It's commendable for the 28-year-old star to take his time and wealth to help those who are in need. He could have travelled to some tropical paradise destination during the international break, but he chose to do good in Africa.

According to his previous press release, Rudiger will discuss a potential investment in sports with local authorities. He will also do the official launching of his Foundation on Thursday to climax his stay in Freetown. Rudiger has shown so much interest in his motherland over the last few years and his intention is to help less privileged kids and support the development of football in the country.

When he finally goes back to London and continue contract talks with the Blues. Although at one point it looked like Rudiger would surely leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, the Champions League holders are hopeful that an agreement still can be made after the Germany international said that his family is happy in London.
"You have to think about your family. My kids were born here in London so that tells you that my family feel great here. The rest is up to other people to make decisions and then we will see if we come together or not."
