Although he had said he no longer wanted to coach, the German manager is returning to the world of football
Jurgen Klopp continues to stay deeply involved in football.
The former elite coach, who has held the position of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull since the start of the year, is now taking on an additional responsibility. On Thursday, the German Football League (DFL) confirmed that Klopp will join a newly formed expert panel.

According to the DFL, "The expert group will address, among other things, the training and integration of talented players as well as the further development of club standards and structures. Initial results are to be discussed in the league committees in spring 2026 and subsequently with all 36 clubs."
The initiative aims to consolidate the knowledge and experience of clubs, the league, and external specialists into a single body. The first task will be to outline future priorities for the growth and development of football.
Alongside Klopp, the committee will include world champion Sami Khedira, Andreas Bornemann (St. Pauli), Joti Chatzialexiou (1. FC Nürnberg), Markus Krosche (Eintracht Frankfurt), and Jochen Sauer (FC Bayern).
DFL Managing Director Marc Lenz and DFB Managing Director Andreas Rettig are also involved in the process. Krosche and Max Eberl (FC Bayern Munich) have been named as representatives of the Football Commission.
For Klopp, this represents the next chapter in his football career after successful managerial tenures at Mainz 05 (2001–2008), Borussia Dortmund (2008–2015), and Liverpool (2015–2024). Since January, he has been overseeing football operations at Red Bull, with a contract extending until 2029.
