For years, he had been one of the top defenders in the world, but the sun doesn't shine for the 33-year-old anymore
No one is immune to ageing, so Jerome Boateng, once one of the best centre-backs in the world, gets rejected - Galatasaray! As German newspaper Bild writes, Galata's gaffer Okan Buruk estimated that the 33-year-old German would not be a reinforcement for the Istanbul team because "he is too slow."

That's how the already agreed transfer failed, which would have brought Boateng, who won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany, a one-year contract worth 1,500,000 euros.
Nevertheless, Boateng could have stayed in Turkey because Trabzon wanted him on loan from Olympique Lyonnais and was ready to cover half of his annual salary of 4,000,000 euros. However, the player himself did not want to go to the Black Sea coast, despite slowly running out of options.
