Although there were signs that the Brazilian’s chapter in Madrid might soon end, it seems that will not happen
On Wednesday in Greece, we saw a moment that appeared to close the chapter on the tension between Xabi Alonso and Vinicius. The friction dated back to the most recent Clasico, when the Brazilian reacted angrily toward the Real Madrid coach after being subbed off in the second half. Although Vinicius later released a public apology, he didn’t mention the coach by name.
However, as Mundo Deportivo has learned, he addressed the matter privately, apologizing face-to-face to all his teammates — with Xabi Alonso and his entire staff also present.

This week, after Madrid’s dramatic 3–4 win over Olympiacos, the pair shared a warm embrace at the final whistle, a gesture suggesting that the issue is firmly in the past.
The timing coincides with progress in contract talks between the Brazilian and the club. Vinicius, whose current deal runs until June 30, 2027, earns 15 million euros gross per year. His original aim was to become the squad’s top earner — or at least match Kylian Mbappe’s salary.
Mbappe earns 15 million euros net, plus an annual signing bonus of 8 million euros net from 2024–25 through June 2029, totaling 23 million euros net — roughly 46 million euros gross.
🚨 Brazil forward Vinícius Júnior has moved closer to signing a new contract with Real Madrid after reducing his wage demands.

Negotiations have advanced because Vinicius has softened his initial demands. Real Madrid now hopes to seal the new agreement in the coming months.
If no deal is reached, the forward would be free to start negotiations with other clubs on January 1, 2027, once he enters the final six months of his current contract.
