Havertz puts an end to Chelsea's agony as Mudryk witness the Blues' victory

The German forward nails a perfect header for a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge against Patrick Vieira's side

Far from great, not terrible.

This sentence encapsulates Chelsea's Sunday performance against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, which saw the Blues winning thanks to Kai Havertz's second-half header, 1-0.

This way, the Londoners had ended their three-game-long winless streak and joined Liverpool in 9th place on the Premier League table with 28 points in the bag.

The uninspired display in the vast part of the match eventually didn't harm the hosts, as Patrick Vieira's boys failed to stay on the desired level, especially in the second half.

The first period was much better in terms of goal-scoring opportunities for both sides, as keepers Kepa and Guaita made a couple of jaw-dropping saves to keep the clean sheets.

However, Havertz, who missed a sitter early on, jumped sky-high 20 minutes into the second half and stuck it into the far corner for the win.

Mykhaylo Mudryk witnessed his new team's win but also saw a squad that suffers from many problems and flaws, that needs a lot of reinforcements, which is why the Chelsea board has brought as many as five new players in the current transfer window.
