Bayern's English striker gets a hat-trick in a seven-nil trouncing
Harry Kane has now scored six goals in his first five games. Today, he scored a triple and delivered another two assists as Bayern outclassed Bochum 7-0 at Allianz Arena. The England captain has adjusted to life in Germany so quickly that it begs the question of why he didn't leave Tottenham sooner!
It was a perfect day for the home fans in Munich and a great way to end an already pleasing week, in which they beat Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting wasn't discouraged by a missed header in the first minute. Instead, the Cameroonian seized the opportunity to slot home Kingsley Coman's low cross at the far post, opening the scoring. Bayern remained hungry for more goals, evoking memories of their early-season 7-0 victories in the previous two campaigns, as Kane struck the second.

Alphonso Davies embarked on a marauding run that caused confusion among the Bochum defenders. A fortuitous deflection off Ivan Ordets favoured the Englishman, who confidently finished inside the near post. Bayern continued to press for a third, and it came before the half-hour mark. Matthijs de Ligt, back in the starting lineup, rose above everyone else in the box to powerfully head in Joshua Kimmich's corner. Just before halftime, Kane turned provider, delivering an excellent deep ball to Leroy Sane, who calmly slotted the ball past goalie Manuel Riemann.
Chances kept coming for Bayern in the second half, and they maintained complete control of the game. A fifth goal was awarded to the home side from the penalty spot when Ordets handled the ball while attempting to block a shot. Kane stepped up and converted his sixth goal of the season. This prompted Tuchel to introduce Bayern's young talent Mathys Tel. After debutant left-back Frans Kratzig's attempt was denied by Riemann, the 18-year-old Frenchman received the ball from Kane and curled it into the far corner.
As the final whistle approached, Bochum's fans' fears materialized when Bayern scored a seventh goal against their team for the third consecutive year. Kane completed a hat-trick by tapping in Noussair Mazraoui's low cross, securing his maiden treble in Germany's top flight. This heavy defeat should concern Bochum, who are still searching for their first win of the season, while Bayern not only returned to their familiar position at the top of the Bundesliga but did so in style.
