"OFFICIAL STATEMENT | Job Ochieng renews until 2028,” read the announcement, signaling the club’s faith in the Harambee Stars winger with an improved two-year contract extension.
The renewal comes barely a fortnight after Ochieng marked a significant breakthrough by making his senior debut for Sociedad, underlining his steady and well-earned rise through the ranks.
Having joined the club’s youth system in 2022 from the Maspalomas academy, the Kenyan attacker has methodically climbed the developmental ladder.
He first featured for Real Sociedad C, making his debut on February 26 in a 1-0 victory over Alavés B.
His performances earned him promotion to Sociedad B at the start of 2023, where he became a regular in Spain’s competitive Segunda División structure.
After three years honing his craft in the lower tiers, Ochieng’s persistence paid off with elevation to the senior squad.
On February 7, he etched his name into history books, coming off the bench in Sociedad’s 3-1 triumph over Elche CF and subsequently was on the unused substitute in their 4-1 defeat by Real Madrid

In doing so, he became the second Kenyan to feature for Real Sociedad after FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, and only the third Kenyan to play in La Liga following Michael Olunga, formerly of Girona FC.
For Ochieng, the new deal is more than a contract renewal, it is a defining milestone, a testament to his steady growth, and the unwavering belief of a club investing in a promising Kenyan talent poised for even greater heights.
