Harambee Stars travelling squad to Mali

The team leaves tonight for the first leg set to be played on Thursday in Morocco.

A total of nine players were on Monday 4 October dropped by newly installed head coach Engin Firat from the initial Harambee Stars provisional squad that is set to take on Mali.

Kenya is scheduled to play the West African heavyweights in back to back encounters of the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup qualifiers with the first match slated for Thursday 7 and Sunday 10 October.

The away match is set to be staged at the Stade d'Agadir in Morocco after CAF failed to approve any stadium in Mali.

Ulinzi Stars custodian James Saruni has been dropped from the squad alongside Kariobangi Sharks utility defender Samuel Olwande and Gor Mahia's Frank Odhiambo.

In midfield Wazito's Musa Masika has also been axed from the travelling squad, so is Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Patillah Omoto, Bandari's Keagan Ndemi, Reagan Otieno from KCB and Ovella Ochieng.

Upfront, Kariobangi Sharks forward Syndey Lokale who has not enjoyed competitive action in the last six months save for the opening league game of the season has been dropped.

Foreign-based players save for Philip Mayaka who travelled to Kenya will link up with the team in Morocco after completing their club duties over the weekend.
