David Sesay is soon expected to make a decision on whether to represent Kenya or Sierra Leone, Mozzart Sport has established

Sesay, who plays as a rightback for Barnet in the English National League, was born in England to a Kenyan mother and dad from Sierra Leone.

As it stands, he qualifies to play for either of these three countries but it appears the ideal choice will be between the African countries.

Mozzart Sport understands former Harambee Stars coach Jacob Ghost Mulee personally reached out to the player and was set to include him in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali in October before he quit the job.

And in a related development, the 23-year old has also been approached by Sierra Leone to compete in friendly matches during the same period.

In a previous interview, Sesay, who can play right-back or as a right-winger, and possesses excellent dribbling, passing and crossing skills, confirmed he was '100 percent ready to play' for Harambee Stars.

"People say I rejected the chance to play for Kenya but that is not true. The Kenya FA officials approached me and my paperwork was not ready. I had also changed clubs at the time and needed time to settle down. I explained this and everything went on well," he told Nation Sport in an interview.

Should he be called up by the new Stars coach Engin Firat, Sesay, who's previously turned out for Watford and Crawley Town in England, will likely compete with Tusker's Daniel Sakari for a starting spot in the right-hand side of defence.

If he settles for Sierra Leone then he will have to wait until early next year to feature for his father's country of birth in AFCON Qualifiers.
