The encounter, set for the historic Mustapha Tchaker Stadium, comes just three days after the two sides met in Blida on Wednesday.

In the midweek duel at the Bilda Stadium, hosts Algeria mounted a spirited comeback to claim a 2-1 victory, overturning a match largely dominated by Kenya.

Mwanahalima Adam had fired the Starlets ahead in the 15th minute, but the North Africans responded through Laura Taleb’s 47th-minute equalizer and a dramatic stoppage-time winner by Nouhed Naili to seal the comeback.

Sunday’s affair offers the Starlets a perfect opportunity to amend Wednesday’s slip and wrap up their week-long training camp in Algeria on a positive note.

Head coach Beldin Odemba is expected to make slight tweaks to her lineup, with a strong emphasis on tightening concentration levels, an area that proved costly in the closing stages of the first match.

However, securing victory will require grit from Odemba's charges. The Fennecs, as Algeria is commonly known, come with a wealth of experience and pedigree on the continental stage.

They boast six Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) titles, their most recent triumph coming in 2024, and will be keen to maintain their dominance.

Algeria’s head coach, Farid Benstiti, is likely to retain the same squad that featured on Wednesday as they eye a clean sweep from the two friendly encounters.

Both nations are using the double-header as part of their preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, with Kenya marking a long-awaited return to the continental championship after an eight-year absence, having last competed in 2016.

Starlets emphatically booked their ticket, dispatching Gambia 4-1 on aggregate, while Algeria secured their place with a 3-1 aggregate triumph over Cameroon.
